With former Leeds full-back Peter Hampson in charge Workington kept the substitutions rolling from midway through the first half. United chose to make just one change to the starting eleven when Caleb Forlan gave way to Robbie Shields in the second half. The one goal came eight minutes into the second half when Craig Stiens put Leeds in front. It could have been more with Stiens, Craig Farrell and Dominic Krief all guilty.
